We honour the GOAT of mountain biking and other top Swiss athletes.

The 2025 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup will make history – not only with thrilling races and unforgettable moments, but also with some big farewells. With Nino Schurter, Camille Balanche, Thomas Litscher and Linda Indergand, we are saying goodbye to four athletes who have had a decisive influence on the sport in recent years.

Nino Schurter – The Goat of Mountain Biking

A legend says goodbye – The 2025 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Lenzerheide marks the end of an era: Nino Schurter will compete in his last race here.

Nino is much more than just the most successful mountain biker of all time. He is a role model, ambassador and idol for generations of bikers. Since his first successes in the junior categories, he has steadily worked his way to the top of the world rankings – and shaped them for many years.

His career highlights:

2002 – 2004
First Swiss championship titles in the junior categories, Junior World Champion 2004.

2008
First Olympic medal (bronze) in Beijing.

2009
At 23, the youngest Elite World Champion in history.

2012
Olympic silver in London
World champion in Leogang (Austria)

2015
World champion for the fourth time

Gold at the European Games in Baku

Olympic gold in Rio – Nino crowned Olympic champion

Camille Balanche

A pioneer in downhill racing – Camille Balanche, an exceptional athlete who has shaped the sport of mountain bike downhill racing, will be retiring in 2025.

Her greatest achievements:

  • 2019 European Champion
  • Overall winner of the 2022 UCI Downhill World Cup
  • Multiple Swiss champion
  • Numerous World Cup victories and podium places

Thomas Litscher

The constant fighter – Thomas Litscher, who has been a world-class cross-country rider since his junior days and has brought many medals and emotions to Swiss mountain biking, will end his career in 2025.

His career highlights:

  • Junior & U23 World Champion in Cross-Country
  • Multiple medals with the Swiss relay team (World Championships & European Championships)
  • Bronze at the 2017 World Championships (XCO)
  • Bronze at the 2022 World Championships (short track)
  • Bronze at the 2023 European Championships (short track)
  • Swiss champion in short track 2023

Linda Indergand

Power, passion, success – Linda Indergand, one of the most versatile Swiss cyclists of recent years, will be retiring in 2025.

Her career highlights:

  • Junior European Cross Country Champion (2010)
  • 2021 Olympic Games – Bronze in Cross Country (XCO)
  • Multiple Swiss Champion on the road and off-road
